MUSIC
1978-1980 – drummer in Toronto group Androids. Also, occasional drummer with Mick Slick.
1980 – Singer (lead voice) Toronto rock ‘n’ roll pop group the Hearbeats.
1981 – 1986 Leader, Singer (lead voice) songwriter and founder of Toronto group Raving Mojos.
Recorded first demo tape (1981) subject of “Mannish Boy” (directed by Paul Fox) (1982) recorded second demo tape “Live at the Turning Point”
as well as soundtrack for film. Notable gigs opening for the Ramones, Gun Club, Cramps, Hanoi Rocks,
Richard Hell, Teenage Head, Viletones.
1986 -Played drums in Teenage Head. Toured Western Canada, Ontario, Quebec and Mid-west United States.
1986 – 1989 leader, founder, composer, lead voice and 2nd guitar with Blair Martin Group.
1987 – drummer with Animal Stags; as well as, local gigs with Lee Linden, Ardene Shapiro, Joanne Mackell,
New York group Washington Squares.
1989 – 1991 – founded group the Urban Outriders. Functioned as leader, lead voice, acoustic guitar and songwriter.
Recorded demo tape at Masters Workshop, produced by award-winning Toronto producer Myles Dutton.
1994 – 2000 Studied Cuban percussion and founded traditional Son Cubano music group Klave y Kongo.
Sang first voice, played bongos and was the musical director. Recorded first demo “Voz del Sonero” (1996)
and began 6 year weekly residency at club Cervejaria on College Street. Prestigious gigs at Massey Hall opening
for Cubanismo, Harbourfront (mainstage) with NG la banda. Organized and played gig with Eliades Ochoa and Cuarteto Patria at the Cervejaria.
Notable gigs at Harbourfront (Toronto), National Museum (Ottawa), International Tulip Festival (Ottawa), Festival of Latin Culture (Hamilton).
Recorded CD “Son Asi y Guaguanco” (1999). Live guest appearances with the group included Compay Segundo, Eliades Ochoa, as well as members of Sierra Maestra.
2001 – 2006 Began recording Raving Mojos CD “The Last Rock ‘n’ Roll Ever!!” based on bed-tracks
recorded in 1994 . Play sold-out CD release at Lee’s Palace. The groups plays various club gigs in Toronto and Hamilton.
2005 – Became involved with various video and CD release projects including the making of feature length film
“The Last Pogo Jumps Again” featured in several interviews and given a “camera-man” credit for creating photo and newspaper scans used
in the film and on various websites.
2006-2008 – Took part in various live shows with Raving Mojos as part of 30th anniversary of punk rock scene in Toronto
and to promote release of “Last Pogo Jumps Again”; as well as gig at Toronto’s Lee’s Palace marking the 25th anniversary of Raving Mojos.
PAINTING
2014 – Began painting and attended classes at Royal York. After completing course in the use of acrylics and oils, thereby
fulfilling a prerequisite needed in order to study advanced life drawing and courses in human figure drawing and painting. Studied with Michael
Jentzen at Central Technical Institute.
2015 – “The Subject is Paint” – solo exhibition – Minto Community Gallery . October 4-10.
2016 – Appeared in numerous monthly group shows at the Tantra Lounge with future Artusiasm Gallery. “Not an Everyday Occurrence” – Gallery 115 –
